Scott Gunderson Syse 590 Integrative Workshop 1 of 50 Learning Objectives & Study Plan

The early twentieth century British writer and critic George Orwell defended his advocacy of socialism, claiming he was less interested in how socialism could improve England, and more interested in how England could improve socialism. My study plan adopts similar language for its learning objective summary: not the application of risk analysis to systems engineering, but the application of systems engineering to risk analysis. Study emphasis is on the application of applied risk analysis and system safety engineering to support continued and uninterrupted operation of complex systems. In addition to the required and elective courses, additional learning activities include professional development and continuing education courses, publications, and work on SYSE 506 Project, each described in further detail below. Progress on SYSE 506 Project and SYSE 590 Integrative Workshop will take place through the course of program study. Term registration will not necessarily correspond with project and workshop activities. Both project and workshop completion will be necessary to complete degree requirements. The split in the table below indicates progress to date. Courses above the split have been completed; courses below the split are in progress or scheduled.
